Nellie Deutsch (Ed.D) Doctor of Education in leadership with a specialization in curriculum and instruction. Her dissertation was on blended learning. She is Co-Chair of TESOL CALL-IS, on the EVO coordination team past head lead, instructor at IMT Immersive Technologies MSc program at International Hellenic University and mentor to educators worldwide. 

She has taught English in public schools & colleges (over 40 years) and integrated technology (computer room) in high school since 1992.  She joined SL in 2007. She offers free annual online professional development courses and webinars on Moodle for Teachers and provides a platform for teachers to teach for free on Teachers Teaching Teachers. She founded the annual Moodle & Virtual World MOOCs (2014-2023) & online conferences (CO09-CO23) (MMVC11-23). 

She implements learner autonomy, self-care with mindfulness & the Alexander technique, team peer learning, OER & technologies such as Moodle, Google Classroom, Google Bard, ChatGPT, Claude, Spatial (VR), Elicit, Twee, Padlet, Quizlet, Kahoot, Voki, Flip, ZOOM, Jitsi, ScreenPal, Vimeo, VideoAnt, GoBrunch, Hypothesis, Amanote, Annoto, and Google drive into her courses and webinars.

Marjorie Rosenberg has been teaching English as a Foreign Language in the adult sector since 1981 in Graz, Austria. She has worked in a number of companies, taught at university and carried out teacher training sessions throughout Austria, Europe and the United States.  Marjorie is also an active conference presenter and has given plenaries at over 30 conferences world-wide.  Active in the field of publishing, Marjorie has written several methodology books on learner preferences and course books as well as books with photocopiable activities in the field of business English.  Marjorie is the incoming joint-coordinator of IATEFL BESIG and served as IATEFL President from 2015 – 2017.

He has spoken at conferences and run training courses in Europe, North America, South America, the Middle East, the Far East and Australasia. Bio

Chiyuki Yanase is a lecturer at Keio University in Tokyo. She has been teaching English for over 30 years at various institutions, from nursery schools to universities, and holds an MSc in TESOL from Aston University. Her current research interests focus on teacher and learner well-being and the self-efficacy of learners. She has presented at numerous international conferences and published several articles on learner autonomy, well-being, and collaborative learning.

 

 

DERRY - North Ireland: Clare Heaney

Bio

Clare Heaney graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast with a Bachelor’s degree in French and English Literature in 1998. Following this, she completed her Master’s in English Language Teaching and a certificate in teaching English to adults (C.E.L.T.A). She taught in France for a year and a half before returning to the U.K. and working on ESOL projects in Belfast. She then took up a teaching post at the North West Academy, a British Council-accredited language school based in Derry, Northern Ireland. She has been Director of Studies since 2011.

Clare has taught a vast array of students from 8-65+, at all levels. She specialises in English for Examination purposes (IELTS, Trinity, Cambridge) and E.S.P. (hospitality, tourism, retail, medicine, etc..).

Cecilia Christodoulides

Bio

Cecilia began her career in Canada as a Developmental Psychologist specializing in children’s learning from early years to secondary school. She then moved to the UK and trained as a KS1 Teacher and a KS2 Teacher in Mathematics and has worked for 20 years applying Piaget’s Cognitive Development Theory when working with the children in the class. The study of human behavior continued and she gained qualifications as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor working with young adults as well as adults as a Cognitive Behaviour Therapist marrying the foundation learned as a psychologist with its application as a counselor. 

 

For the past 8 years, Cecilia has been an English Language Teacher teaching English Language to students coming from all over Europe, the Middle East, and China. In early 2023 Cecilia joined the EdYOUGallery family as a Teacher Trainer and Examiner, presenting and giving webinars and podcasts.
